As I was “debating” an issue with some liberals on a liberal blog, I couldn't help but notice the lack of rationale for their position. Indeed, they had no rationale, and were not even attempting to muster one. All they could mutter was insults—of me, whom they don’t even know. I began to seriously wonder, is that person drunk? Are they blogging from an insane asylum? What is the nature and character of their condition? Are they as physically violent as they are verbally violent? If so, are their children safe? Is their wife safe-- their husband? There seems to be many of them.
I remember years ago as a teenager working construction in a poor section of town. The apartments I was working on had gas stoves. And the stoves had vents. And because the stove in the unit I was working in had been removed, the vent was wide open. As I worked, I could clearly hear into the upstairs unit. All the occupants did was swear at each other and call each other names. That impoverished, angry, and insane segment of society now has the Internet, and some of them keep themselves occupied by swearing at others in the blogs. They hold positions, but no reason for them. And they refuse to listen to any logic.
I recently and accidentally ran across a word that defines the nature and character of this condition commonly displayed by liberals. The word is “delusional”. In psychiatry, the noun form is defined as a fixed false belief that is resistant to reason or confrontation with actual fact. Many liberals are delusional. And one cause of their condition is a difficulty they have distinguishing fiction from reality.
Shows like “Hung” glamorize the life of a male prostitute by omitting the realities of the "profession" such as early onset Alzheimer’s, testicle cancer, anal cancer, high tax-rates for everyone, anal cancer of the wife, blind babies, abortions, blurred vision, heart troubles, prostate failure, impotence, herpes, genital warts, liver disease, prison, bankruptcy from medical bills, early death, and other myriad problems that plague all prostitutes. Mention these omissions, and the deluded individual stubbornly resists the intrusion into his fraudulent view of reality. They are loyal to the delusion to the degree that they want to harm anyone shattering it-- sometimes by simple name-calling. They want others to share in the delusion. It is as if they are angry at reality.
So the answer to my question can be determined by whether you name-call in response to my articles.

I think you mean rationale, not rational.
ReplyDeleteAs a liberal, I believe in advancing the rights of women across the globe so that there are fewer prostitutes (and pimps). I think perhaps the best way of doing this is to decriminalize the act of prostitution (the victim, i.e. the prostitute) and criminalize the john.
Other than the last paragraph, I find it interesting that I could've written it--about the fundamentalist conservatives around whom I grew up.
One night around 2002-2003, I was driving home after a city council meeting and listening to someone on the radio (I believe Savage was his name). I grew cold as he began to say with intense vitriol that killing a liberal would be a patriotic act. Over the next few years, when I occasionally listened to Hannity, Limbaugh, etc. I heard similar "with us or against us" rhetoric.
I've wondered if other conservatives are as violent as their representatives on talk radio and as their representatives at McCain/Palin rallies last year.
Your lie about Savage, Hannity, and Limbaugh is a result of your delusion. Anyone who actually listens to them realizes that you are slandering them.
ReplyDeleteI'm insulted.
ReplyDeleteYou actually think I want to hurt you.
Sober Input, look past your paranoid delusions, and get this, I don't want to hurt you, and neither do other liberals.
We think you're an idiot who spouts fact-less rants and paranoid delusions, but we aren't out to get you.
Just because people disagree with, and that would be most people in America and the world, doesn't mean we are out to get you.
You are annoying and pathetic, but I believe you are a law abidding and tax paying American citizen, and I have taken an oath to defend you, America, and the United States Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
You're a prat, but there is nothing against being a prat, and to the best of my knowledge you are not a domestic enemy.

PS However, if I catch you trying to encourage anti-abortion terrorism or terrorism against any other Americans (be they gay or whatever), then my opinion of you will abruptly change.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAnd if I catch you trying to encourage anti-abortion terrorism, or any terrorism against anybody, be they gay, or whatever, then I'll turn you into the proper authorities.
So are you reporting Bill O, Ann Coulter, Micheal Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hanity, every right wing religious extremist organization, and the rest of their ilk to the proper authorities?
ReplyDeleteSvutlov
I think the proper authorities would already know about anything like that being said by such individuals. Apparently the proper authorities see the constitution differently than you do.
ReplyDeleteNo, I believe in freedom of speech.
ReplyDeleteI just have a very low opinion of people (Bill O, Sean Hanity, Micheal Savage, Ann Coulter, every right wing religious organization, and the rest of their ilk) who promote violence against anyone, and I consider them Scum of the Earth.
I haven't put you in the "Scum of the Earth" catagory yet, but that is because I haven't seen you promote violence or terrorism against others, yet.
Svutlov
They do not promote violence. It's that simple.
ReplyDeleteYes they do.
ReplyDeleteSvutlov
I think we've reached the least common denominator of our disagreement, and an impasse.
ReplyDeleteBut I look forward to future debates.
Sober--I'm the Anonymous who wrote the first comment here, and I haven't posted any of these others. I will say that I absolutely was *not* lying. Savage *really* did say that killing a liberal would be an act of patriotism. Obviously that comment is taken out of context from a long rationalization. I believe Savage was suggesting that liberals refused to allow the United States to defend herself, so killing one would essentially be an act of patriotism.
ReplyDeleteI think he did go on to say "I'm not actually advocating that you go out and kill liberals." On the other hand, he repeated several times that killing one would be patriotic. He wasn't suggesting that you *do* it, of course. But it would be patriotic.
I promise you, this isn't a lie. --SAM
There is a number of reasons I don't believe it. First of all, I listen to him. Second, you guys say Hannity does also. And he's a mild as they get.
ReplyDeleteTry this:

Saying that Micheal Savage isn't homophobic, xenophobic, sexist, and racist, is like claiming that Hilter wasn't ant-semitic.
Savage's whole reason for broadcasting is to spout his violent laced hateful rants against liberals, homosexuals, intellectuals, immigrants, women, and just about everybody else, which is strange considering that Savage is the son of Jewish immigrants and lives in San Francisco.
When it comes to Scum of the Earth, Micheal Savage is part of the scummiest.
I will give you that Sean Hannity is in the less brazen section of the "Scum of the Earth" catagory, but on his show his gives voice to anti-semitic fundimentalists, gay bashers, racists, and others of that kind.
To be a conservative you have to hate a lot, as you Sober Input made so very clear in your rant in this bit about how you dislike the poor and believe that they are all criminals.
I am a liberal because I want to be inclusive and respectful to all others, even conservatives.
Svutlov
PS
Sober Input, try loving rather than hating, and I promise you will be a much happier person. The greatest day of my life, aside from my marriage and the birth of my children, was when I threw off my irrational and stupid prejudice against Muslims. The more dangerous enemy is within ourselves.
Classifying as phobic the recognition of an obviously detrimental lifestyile is part of the delusion I was speaking about. Remember all the talk in the seventies about how mean it was to critisize that lifestyle? Then remember the millions of people that died because of it? No, you don't. It was Reagan's fault. Right? You're deluded.
ReplyDeleteYou are the one who is phobic. And equating judaism with putting one's pecker into another guy's ass is anti-semitism at its peak. So you are not only phobic, you are a bigot and an anti-semite.
Stop hating, and stop spreading and causing disease, death, and economic hardship.
That behavior not only caused the deaths of millions practicing it, it caused the deaths of millions of babies and wives. It also caused disease include Extensively Drug Resistent TB.
ReplyDeleteWhat is hate?
Answer:
ReplyDeleteA lot of right wing printed and broadcast spew.
A lot of times you confuse me as to what it is you're ranting about, because you never provide facts, links, or sources.
So is it sex you are ranting against?
Do you want to outlaw sex?
Do you want to outlaw birth control?
Do you want to outlaw vacinations for STDs?
Do you want to outlaw scientific study of STDs and fertility?
Do you want to outlaw sex-ed?
Do you want to outlaw condoms?
Do you want to outlaw divorse?
Do you want to outlaw homosexual sex and love?
Do you want to outlaw alternative life styles?
Do you want to outlaw sex toys?
Do you want to outlaw porn?
Do you want to outlaw foreplay?
Do you want to outlaw adultery?
Do you want to outlaw strip bars?
Do you want to outlaw abortion?
Do you want to outlaw erotic movies, TV shows, books, websites, and stories?
Well, I am glad all of those things are legal, and I will fight you to the death to keep them legal.
But be honest with yourself; I am on the side that wants to keep rights, and you are on the side that wants to take rights away.

Well, SI, I don't have a recording of what I heard in the car. On the other hand, I know what I heard.
ReplyDeleteFor edification, I used a search engine on Savage and "kill a liberal." Other people heard what I did.
I'm done here. You don't want to have a dialogue. When I post something I actually heard and invite you to address it, you put your fingers in your ears and say, "I don't believe you!"
I'd wish you well, but I've read II John.
-SAM
I don't believe it. I've witnessed liberals lie about everything all the time-- whatever they can get away with. It's always Hannity, Rush, Savage, and O'Reilly. You search.
